Judy Blume and Rachel McAdams Teaming Up

Rachel McAdams has been cast as the mom in Judy Blume’s '“Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret.” McAdams will play Barbara Simon, mother to Margaret, a sixth-grader who has many questions about life.

As for the title character, that will be played by Abby Ryder Fortson previously of the “Ant-Man” films.

It will be interesting seeing this book as a movie, other people playing the characters us readers formulated in our heads. Normally, that’s not a huge issue for me, a book translated to film. But I saw so much of myself in this character, and most Judy Blume characters.
