It would be hard to name one ‘80s movie as “the best” as the ‘80s had many excellent movies in a variety of genres. We could narrow it down by genre, but even then it would be tough.

“Best” is objective, so these are just our opinion.

John Hughes movies like “The Breakfast Club” and “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” are a good representation of the era. Musicals like “Footloose” and “Flashdance” were big hits. Action movies like “Top Gun,” “Die Hard” and “Lethal Weapon” were huge. Horror and thriller movies like “The Lost Boys” and “The Shining” were popular.
