The Crown Season 5 ‘80s and ‘90s Songs

Princess Diana The Crown

‘80s and ‘90s Songs in The Crown Season 5

There are zero ‘80s songs or references in the latest season of The Crown as the season goes from the rocky marriage of Princess Diana and Prince Charles to their separation in the 1990s.

As with The Crown Season 4 ‘80s songs (read them here), the song titles say a lot.

Episode 1

When Princess Diana and Prince Charles go on their second honeymoon “Emotion” by Mariah Carey is played.

Episode 2

“My Destiny” by Lionel Richie. This is a good example of the producers using a song for the title than the song, IMO.

Episode 5

Charles dances, or tries, with 1992’s “Don’t Sweat the Technique” by Eric B. & Rakim in the background.

Episode 7

“Fade Into You” by Mazzy Star when Diana is at the doctor.

At the end of the episode “A Girl Like You,” by Edwyn Collins.

Song at the Jubilee “One Night Only” from Dreamgirls, a 1981 musical (and later movie).

Episode 10

“Fly Like an Eagle,” by the Steve Miller Band.
